Maniyur Grama Panchayaht is located in Kozhikkode District of Kerala State -India. The West, East and South sides of this Panchayath is bounded by the Kuttiadi River. Being the three sides of Panchayath is covered by river it was very difficult to reach Maniyur.People depended boat services to go to Educational institutions and to Hospitals at Payyoli ,Vatakara and at Kozhikkode.
The opening of new Bridges at Attakkundu Kadavu and at Thurasserykkadavu made easy way to Maniyur. By travelling 5KM from Payyoli and 10 KM from Vatakara- National Highway (NH 17) one can reach at PHC Maniyur.Then Maniyur Panchayath Office is suituated at Maniyur. Javahar Navodaya School at Palayad Co-operative Engineering College at Kurunthodi, TTI College at Chellattpoyil and MHES College of Science and Tchnology at Cherandathur. Maniyur Panchayath Higher secondary School is suitutuated at Karuvanchery –Palayad.
